Quad Driver Test
Memory capacity means that only limited amounts of information are available for the snapshot block. This means that an isolated fault can be displayed, but that several faults must always be indicated by trouble code 93. In this case, the mechanic must check all quad outputs individually to identify the faulty circuit.
For trouble code 93 "quad driver", four components may be defective:
1. Air conditioning relay (AC relay) 3. Fuel consumption signal
2. Controlled canister purge valve (CCP) 4. Engine speed signal
1. AC relay, short circuit to ground or lead interrupted
1. AC relay, short circuit to battery voltage
2. Controlled canister purge valve, short circuit to ground or lead interrupted
2. Controlled canister purge valve, short circuit to battery voltage
3. Fuel consumption signal, short circuit to ground or lead interrupted
3. Fuel consumption signal, short circuit to battery voltage
4. Engine speed signal, short circuit to ground or lead interrupted
4. Engine speed signal, short circuit to battery voltage
For further trouble-shooting, a TECH 1 Actuator Test "Quad Driver Module" can be selected. After completion of this test, TECH 1 displays the detected faults.
Important:
These trouble codes do not appear in TECH 1 mode F2!
Alteration of Idle Speed using TECH 1
Adjustment of the idle speed using TECH 1 for the C 12 XE engine, like increasing the control engine speed in NZ engines, can be carried out in mode F7. Simply pressing the key adapts the engine speed in small steps within the limits permitted by the ABE (General Operating Permit). This value remains stored after TECH 1 has been disconnected.
