| If 25 steps are not attained or 50 steps are exceeded (at idle speed without load) for longer than 10 s, the control unit resets the stepper motor after ignition OFF. After an interval of 5 s, re - start the engine. If after this procedure the number of steps is less than 25 or greater than 50, initiate trouble - shooting. |
If the number of steps continues to border around 50 (48 to 52), ensure by switching on load (light, rear window heating, air conditioning) that 50 steps are exceeded for longer than 10 s. Then proceed as described above.

· Slowly increase engine speed to 4000 rpm by actuating accelerator cable, maintain briefly and then allow to return to idle speed.
