Engine Management System Motronic M 1.5.5
The X 10 XE three-cylinder engine is equipped with the recently developed Motronic M 1.5.5 engine management system.
The special features of this new, compact engine management system are:
- Modern, hybrid technology engine control unit, installed directly in the engine intake module
- Ignition module located directly above the spark plugs, making ignition cables superfluous
- Hot film mass air flow meter with backflow recognition and integrated intake air temperature sensor
- Idle control via electronic throttle valve adjuster in main flow instead of via bypass
- Fast recognition of camshaft angle optimises engine starting and lowers emissions
The functions of the other sensors and components in the Motronic M 1.5.5 engine management system are largely identical to previously known components in other engines.
