Engine OFF

Engine cold-C 10/C 4 C 13/C 14
Throttle valve completely CLOSEDgreater than 4 ms
Throttle valve completely OPEN (100 %)less than 3 ms
Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature0.7 to 1, 3 ms

The ignition period is an internal value of the control unit.

If the ignition period deviates considerably from the above values, check the following points:

All consumers switched off?

COOLANT TEMP. OK ? (test step 02)

O2 SENSOR LOOP closed OK ? (test step 09)

O2 INTEGRATOR OK ? (test step 11)

O2 BLM CELL NO. OK ? (test step 13)

O2 BLM CELL CONT OK ? (test step 14)

PARK / NEUTRAL SW. in idle position (P / N) OK ? (lest step 31)

TPS SIGNAL OK ? (test step 04)

MAP SENSOR OK ? (test step 03)

IDLE AIR CONTROL OK ? (test step 07)

KNOCK PULSES OK ? (test step 25)

EGR POSITION CMD OK ? (test step 16)

FUEL TANK VENT. OK ? (test step 22)

If all above check points are OK: With TECH 1:

reset control unit (SELECT RESET IDLE ADJUST) repeat test

(If nominal value is not attained)

· Select TECH 1 mode "F8"

· Using arrow keys, increase idle speed (1200 rpm)

· Switch off consumers

approx. 1.1 ms
· Set to 650 rpm using arrow key on TECH 1.The ignition period should change due to the decreasing engine speed.
