· This value is not an actually measured value; it is an ignition value taken from the control unit. It is used primarily to improve understanding of the system. All consumers should be switched off.
· If the firing angle values read by TECH 1 deviate significantly from the above nominal values, check various sensor input signals:
1. Mass air flow meter
2. Throttle valve potentiometer
3. Coolant temperature
4. Exhaust gas recirculation system
5. Controlled canister purge system
6. Knock control system
7. Cylinder recognition
8. Ground connection to direct ignition system
· Ignition OFF
· Disconnect plug for inductive pulse pick - up P 35
· Connect checking spark plugs at high voltage outputs 1 and 4
· Ignition ON
