Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Opel Corsa B

Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

The intake manifold absolute pressure sensor measures pressure changes in the intake tract resulting from changes in the engine load and speed. The measuring range is between 200 mbar and 1050 mbar.

If certain crystals are pressurized or exposed to a pressure difference, a brief charge carrier separation occurs, i.e. an electrical voltage pulse is created. This is called the piezo effect. Quarz and turmaline crystals are used for this sort of application.

This minute sensor signal is processed by an amplifier switch integrated into the sensor, and supplies a precisely defined output voltage. The voltage signal corresponds to the pressure difference between the reference vacuum and the intake manifold absolute pressure.

The colour coding with various plastic inserts is no longer used. There is now only one sensor version.
