· This test step indicates, whether the engine control unit is learning or not.
In the INACTIVE status the control unit is unable to carry out alterations in the permanent correction memory.
Only when the TECH 1 display changes to ACTIVE (i.e. the engine is at operating temperature) can an essential mixture correction be taken over in the permanent memory.
· If INACTIVE is constantly displayed in TECH 1 display, a fault is present.
