Octane Number Plug
A brown octane number plug is used which, if necessary, allows the ex works setting of 95 RON to be changed to 98 octane.
To adjust the octane number, the plug is disconnected from the wiring harness and then reconnected after being turned 180°. The gridded side is coded.

Injection Valves
In contrast to the C 18 NZ engine, the SE engines as of MY '93 no longer have central fuel injection, but use one injection valve per cylinder (D 5772). The injection valves are connected in pairs to the control unit. They are actuated simultaneously via power output stages by the control unit (ground pulse). The injection valves for cylinders one and two are connected to control unit output C 10. The injection valves for cylinders three and four are connected to control unit output C 11.
