Test step "DESIRED IDLE " is only active in TECH 1 mode "F8". Test step "DESIRED IDLE " may be used to test engine behaviour at increased speeds. Using the arrow keys, it is possible to alter the speed within a range of 650 rpm to 1800 rpm. All other TECH 1 displays can be monitored simultaneously. TECH 1 is automatically in the snapshot mode, so that in the event of any unusual occurrence the memory function can be immediately activated via "F9" key. TECH 1 uses the idle speed stepper motor to set the speed to the desired value; a change in the "IDLE AIR CONTROL " display is therefore not a fault.
