· Disconnect plug X 5 from control unit to odometer frequency sensor in instrument.
· Disconnect plug X 23 at Dual / Triple - Info - Display DID / TID E 63
· Ignition ON
· Raise vehicle
· Manual transmission in neutral
· Slowly turn both front wheels
· Measure voltage:
from: X 5 Ter. 7 (instrument side)
| to: ground | less than 1 V and greater than 10 V, alternately | If voltage is constantly greater than 11 V: |
· Short circuit to voltage
from: wiring harness plug X 5 Ter. 7
to: instrument plug X 17 Ter. 25
· Instrument defective
| If voltage is constantly less than 0.1 V: |
· Short circuit to ground
