Control Unit
The engine control unit determines the exact injection period and the amount of fuel to be injected, dependent on various measured variables. It continually monitors data from various sensors in order to guarantee optimum driveability and economy while maintaining minimal exhaust emission levels.
The inner construction of the C 16 XE control unit corresponds largely to other Multec control units, except that the knock module (SNEF module), in contrast to X 12/X 16 SZ engines, is integrated into the control unit. This makes a considerable difference to the length of the casing.

Program Memory
