During MY '95, the heated oxygen sensor in the X 14 XE, X 16 XE, X 16 XEL engines in the Corsa- B, Tigra and Astra- F is being replaced by an unheated version.

Part 1:

· Disconnect from base:

58 fuel pump relay K12 secondary air injection relay

· Bridge wiring harness plug

from: K58 base of fuel pump relay Ter. 2

to: K58 base of fuel pump relay Ter. 8

· Disconnect wiring harness plug from:

32 oxygen sensor

· Ignition ON

· Using multimeter, measure voltage:

from: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. A (wiring harness side)

to: ground

higher than 11 V
· Check according to data list no. 12 FUEL PUMP RELAY

· Using multimeter, measure voltage:

from: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. A (wiring harness side)

to: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. B (wiring harness side)

higher than 11 V· Circuit interruption

from: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. B

to: battery - , Ter. 31

Part 2:

· Using multimeter, measure voltage:

from: P32 wiring harness plug oxygen sensor Ter. C (wiring harness side)

to: ground

· Ignition ON450 mV ± 100 mVLower than 350 mV

· Short circuit to ground

· Circuit interruption

from: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. C

to: K57 wiring harness plug for engine control unit Ter. F9

· K57 engine control unit defective

Higher than 550 mV

· Short circuit to voltage

from: P32 wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor Ter. C

to: K57 wiring harness plug for engine control unit Ter. F9

· K57 engine control unit defective.

· Connect to base:

K58 fuel pump relay K12 secondary air injection relay

· Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

· Using TECH 1, carry out:

Set engine to 1300 rpm using arrow keys.

· Using multimeter, measure voltage:

from: P32 oxygen sensor Ter. C

to: ground

(oxygen sensor plug disconnected)

· Oxygen sensor defective.

· Accelerate briefly.

than 700 mV· Mixture constantly too lean / rich.

If nominal values are attained· Check timing, oil consumption and tightness of valves.
