33CO FUEL CORREC.Ignition ON

Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

This test step is only used with the 14 SE engine.

120 steps
115 to 140 steps

For 14 SE engines, the CO concentration in the exhaust must be adjusted with TECH 1. See TECH 1 F6: Adjustments.

The adjustment procedure must be checked using an exhaust gas tester, as the TECH 1 display indicates the permissible adjusting range only. Thus the display in TECH 1 is not a standard measurement. The adjustment procedure corresponds to reprogramming, and so is maintained even after "Ignition OFF".

The CO tolerance range indicated in TECH 1 is merely a recommendation. The relevant limits specific to each country must be observed. If the CO adjustment fails, repeat the CO adjustment after a control unit reset (disconnect control unit from the vehicle voltage supply). If a CO adjustment fails in this case too, the control unit must be replaced.

Adjustment procedure: No trouble codes stored

Vehicle speed 0 km/h (0 mph)

Coolant temperature greater than 75 °C/167 °F

Engine running for at least 5 minutes

Adjustment: Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

Idle air control: ACTIVE

Engine running for not more than 15 minutes in this adjustment mode

The engine speed is increased via TECH 1 to 1500 rpm.

Adjustment value : 0.5 - 1.5 Vol % CO

Test values at idle : 0.1 - 0.5 Vol % CO (test step 33)
