Control Unit
The engine control unit determines the exact injection period and the amount of fuel to be injected, dependent on various measured variables. It continually monitors data from various sensors in order to guarantee optimum driveability and economy while maintaining minimal exhaust and emission levels.
The construction of the C 14 SE control unit corresponds largely to that of the C 18 NZ, but they are not interchangeable.
The addition of the intake air temperature sensor, the change from one injection nozzle to four and the DIS have added several new connections.

The control unit has a 32 kbyte replaceable program memory. The base of the program memory, as for the C 18 NZ, is coded with the word "BLUE".
