Cylinder Recognition

For sequential ignition, the engine management system requires cylinder recognition. For this, besides the crankshaft signal generated by the inductive pulse pick-up and the 58 tooth disc, information from the camshaft sensor (Hall sensor) is required.

If no signal is received from the crankshaft during starting, the Multec-S-System goes into emergency mode (cam backup mode).

This limits the maximum engine speed to approx. 3500 rpm.
