Wheel Speed Sensor (Hall Type), Vectra-C/signum Opel Vectra C

DOHC Petrol Engine 2 illustrations ~243 words

Objective:

Operational check of the wheel sensor for vehicles with Anti-Blocking System.

Measurement:

Plot of voltage at the signal output of the hall sensors on the wheels.

Preparation:

Switch off the engine and ignition.

Connections:

INPUT ACOM/TRIGGERINPUT B
Connect the red measurement lead to pin 2 of the plug connector for the hall sensor on the wheel. Connect the black ground lead to ground.

Procedure Tech 31:

  1. 1. Download Reference curve.
  2. 2. Switch on the ignition.
  3. 3. Lift the concerning wheel free from the floor
  4. 4. Rotate the wheel.

Reference Curve:

The signal plot should be continuous and regular. If the plot of the signal varies from the plot shown below the sensor disc and sensor must be checked for soiling, concentricity and correct shape. When varying the wheel speed only the frequency changes. The % Duty cycle and peak-peak will not change. When standing still the output of the Hall sensor must be low (1V) or high (2V).

Procedure Tech 32:

  1. 1. Download Setup file (the Tech 32 uses only Setup files, no reference curves).
  2. 2. Switch on the ignition.
  3. 3. Lift the concerning wheel free from the floor
  4. 4. Rotate the wheel.
