In the Z 20 NET DOHC Turbo petrol engine, but not in the DOHC Z 22 SE petrol engine, a fuel distributor pipe is used that possesses a fuel feed and a fuel return connection.
Fuel pressure is regulated via the fuel return, by the fuel pressure regulator that is fitted to the fuel distributor pipe.
The fuel distributor pipe serves to equalise pressure. The volume of the fuel distributor pipe is sufficiently large in comparison to the amount of fuel consumed per cycle, so as to prevent changes in pressure.
The construction and shape of the fuel distributor pipe enable simple installation of the injection valves that are connected directly to the distributor pipe.
The fuel lines are also connected to the distributor pipe.
The fuel distributor valve distributes the fuel equally to all injection valves.
