How to Remove and Install the Attachments Opel Vectra C

DOHC Petrol Engine ~413 words

Remove

  1. 1. Remove camshaft sensor, exhaust camshaft • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Remove bolt
  2. 2. Remove camshaft sensor, intake camshaft • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Remove bolt
  3. 3. Remove camshaft adjustment valve, exhaust camshaft • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Unclip wiring harness from cylinder head cover • Remove bolt
  4. 4. Remove camshaft adjustment valve, inlet camshaft • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Remove bolt
  5. 5. Unscrew closure bolt, exhaust camshaft adjuster
  6. 6. Unscrew closure bolt, intake camshaft adjuster
  7. 7. Remove KM-6340
  8. 8. Release exhaust camshaft adjuster • Loosen bolt – Counterhold at hexagonal section on camshaft

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 9. Detach exhaust camshaft adjuster • Remove bolt
  2. 10. Release intake camshaft adjuster • Loosen bolt – Counterhold at hexagonal section on camshaft

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 11. Detach intake camshaft adjuster • Remove bolt
  2. 12. Remove rear toothed belt cover • Unclip wiring duct cover • Unscrew 4x bolt
  3. 13. Detach thermostat housing • Unscrew 4x bolt

Install

  1. 14. Attach thermostat housing • Use new gasket • Tighten 4 bolts 8 Nm
  2. 15. Clean 4x threads on rear toothed belt cover
  3. 16. Install rear toothed belt cover • Tighten 4x new bolts 6 Nm – Coat 4x bolt with screw locking compound • Clip in wiring duct cover
  4. 17. Attach intake camshaft adjuster • Screw in bolt

Note. Do not tighten bolt

  1. 18. Attach exhaust camshaft adjuster • Screw in bolt

Note. Do not tighten bolt

  1. 19. Insert KM-6340

Note. Note markings on camshaft gears

  1. 20. Insert KM-6628-A in camshafts • Align camshafts on hex drive until KM-6628-A can be inserted in both camshafts
  2. 21. Fasten exhaust camshaft adjuster • Tighten new bolts 65 Nm+120°+15° – Counterhold at hexagonal section on camshaft

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 22. Fasten intake camshaft adjuster • Tighten new bolts 65 Nm+120°+15° – Counterhold at hexagonal section on camshaft

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 23. Tighten closure bolt of exhaust camshaft adjuster, 30 Nm • Replace sealing ring
  2. 24. Tighten closure bolt of intake camshaft adjuster, 30 Nm • Replace sealing ring
  3. 25. Install camshaft adjustment valve, exhaust camshaft • Tighten bolt • Clip wiring harness to cylinder head cover • Connect wiring harness plug
  4. 26. Install camshaft adjustment valve, inlet camshaft • Tighten bolt • Connect wiring harness plug
  5. 27. Install camshaft sensor, exhaust camshaft • Tighten bolt • Connect wiring harness plug
  6. 28. Install camshaft sensor, inlet camshaft • Tighten bolt • Connect wiring harness plug
