Engine Oil Coolant

An engine oil cooler is used in the oil system of the Z 20 NET DOHC Turbo petrol engine.

The engine oil cooler is located on the outside of the engine and is attached driveside to the oil filter adapter housing.

The engine oil is cooled using the engine coolant system

The feed and return of coolant to the engine oil cooler takes place via the thermostat housing cap.

Engine Oil Thermostat

The engine oil temperature is regulated via the engine oil thermostat.

From an engine oil temperature of approximately 107 °C, the engine oil thermostat begins to open.

At approximately 120 °C, the engine oil thermostat is the fully open.

Turbo Charger Oil Supply

The engine oil system in the engine block extends to the oil supply of the turbo charger. Oil return takes place via a separate, partly flexible oil return pipe from the turbo charger to the engine sump.

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor

In the Z 20 NET DOHC Turbo petrol engine, but not in the Z 22 SE DOHC petrol engine, the engine oil pressure sensor is not fitted in the engine block, but is fitted in the adapter housing of the engine oil cooler.

Oil Sump

In the Z 20 NET DOHC Turbo petrol engine, a modified version of the oil sump from the DOHC Z 22 SE petrol engine is used.

The oil sump has been adapted in terms of shape and volume to meet the requirements of the Z 20 ET DOHC Turbo petrol engine.
