Replace Toothed Belt Tensioner Opel Vectra C

Remove

1. 1. Remove front toothed belt cover (lower)
2. 2. Lower vehicle
3. 3. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align

4. 4. Release the tension in the toothed belt • Tension toothed belt tensioner (4) with Allen key (1) in direction of arrow and fix in position using KM-6333 (2) • Remove toothed belt
5. 5. Raise vehicle by its entire height
6. 6. Remove toothed belt tensioner • Remove bolt (3)

Important. It is vital to clean the thread

7. 7. Clean thread in cylinder block

Install

8. 8. Install toothed belt tensioner • Free spring leg (1) of toothed belt tensioner must engage in recess (arrow) of pump module. • Tighten bolt 20 Nm – Apply screw locking compound

9. 9. Lower vehicle
10. 10. Position toothed belt
11. 11. Tension toothed belt • Tension toothed belt tensioner and remove KM-6333
12. 12. Remove KM-6340
13. 13. Raise vehicle
14. 14. Turn crankshaft 720° • 2 turns in direction of engine rotation • Move toothed belt drive wheel to cylinder no.1 TDC mark (arrows)

15. 15. Lower vehicle
16. 16. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align - otherwise remove toothed belt and refit

17. 17. Remove KM-6340
18. 18. Raise vehicle by its entire height
19. 19. Attach front toothed belt cover (lower)
