Replace (Front) Crankshaft Seal Ring Opel Vectra C

Remove

1. 1. Remove front toothed belt cover (lower)
2. 2. Set engine to TDC • Remove KM-6625 – Remove screwed connection • Screw in torsional vibration damper bolt • Move crankshaft to cylinder no.1 TDC in direction of engine rotation (arrows)

3. 3. Lower lifting platform
4. 4. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align

5. 5. Remove toothed belt • Tighten toothed belt tensioner (2) with Allen key (1) in direction of arrow and fix in position with KM-6333 (3)

6. 6. Remove toothed belt drive wheel

Important. Do not damage sealing surfaces.

7. 7. Remove front crankshaft seal ring with KM-J-45000

Install

8. 8. Insert (front) crankshaft seal ring (1) • Clean sealing surfaces. • Push protective sleeve of KM-6351 (2) onto crank journal • Push sealing ring over protective sleeve onto crank journal

9. 9. Press in (front) crankshaft seal ring • Remove protective sleeve and press sealing ring into pump housing using KM-6351 (3) – Use bolt (1) and washer (2) of crankshaft drive gear

10. 10. Install toothed belt drive wheel
11. 11. Attach toothed belt • Position toothed belt • Tension toothed belt tensioner and remove KM-6333
12. 12. Remove KM-6340
13. 13. Raise lifting platform
14. 14. Turn crankshaft 720° • 2 turns in direction of engine rotation • Move toothed belt drive wheel to cylinder no.1 TDC mark (arrows)

15. 15. Lower lifting platform
16. 16. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align - otherwise remove toothed belt and refit

17. 17. Remove KM-6340
18. 18. Block crankshaft. • Attach KM-6625 – Attach screwed connection
19. 19. Install front toothed belt cover (lower)
