Adjust Timing Opel Vectra C

DOHC Petrol Engine 3 illustrations ~244 words

Remove

  1. 1. Remove front toothed belt cover (lower)
  2. 2. Set engine to TDC • Detach KM-6625 – Remove screwed connection • Screw in torsional vibration damper bolt • Move crankshaft to cylinder no.1 TDC in direction of engine rotation (III)
  3. 3. Lower vehicle
  4. 4. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Position camshaft sprockets so that the marks (arrows) are facing each other • Insert KM-6340-Left (I) • Insert KM-6340-Right (II)
  5. 5. Remove toothed belt • Mark direction of rotation • Tension toothed belt tensioner clockwise with Allen key and fix in position using KM-6333 (IV) – Remove toothed belts.

Install

  1. 6. Install toothed belt • Position toothed belt – Place toothed belt onto outlet camshaft sprocket – Place toothed belt onto inlet camshaft sprocket – Route toothed belt past tensioning and guide pulleys and onto toothed belt drive wheel – Tension toothed belt tensioner and remove KM-6333

Note. Note running direction

  1. 7. Remove KM-6340
  2. 8. Raise vehicle
  3. 9. Turn crankshaft 720° • 2 turns in direction of engine rotation • Move toothed belt drive wheel to cylinder no.1 TDC mark (arrows)
  1. 10. Lower vehicle
  2. 11. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align - otherwise remove toothed belt and refit

  1. 12. Remove KM-6340
  2. 13. Raise vehicle
  3. 14. Block crankshaft. • Attach KM-6625 – Insert KM-6625 – Tighten screwed joint
  4. 15. Attach front toothed belt cover (lower)
