Remove and Install Oil Pan Opel Vectra C

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery.
  3. 3. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  4. 4. Place collecting basin underneath.
  5. 5. Drain engine oil
  6. 6. Tighten oil drain bolt 14 Nm • Replace sealing ring
  7. 7. Lower vehicle by its entire height
  8. 8. Remove oil dipstick guide tube (2) • Remove bolt (1) • Remove oil dipstick guide tube upwards
  1. 9. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  2. 10. Detach lower engine compartment cover / splash protection
  3. 11. Expose wiring harness for oxygen sensor, catalytic converter test (1) • Undo cable tie (2) • Disconnect wiring harness plug (3).
  1. 12. Remove rear muffler • Undo screwed connection • Remove 3x from damping ring • Detach rear muffler from middle exhaust pipe
  2. 13. Detach front exhaust pipe (2) from catalytic converter • Unscrew 3x nut (1)
  1. 14. Remove front exhaust pipe with front muffler • Unhook 2x rubber bearings (1)
  1. 15. Disconnect engine oil level sensor wiring harness plug
  2. 16. Release oil pan • Detach 3x bolts (arrows) from gearbox • Detach 15x bolts (arrows) from engine block
  1. 17. Lever off oil pan evenly with suitable tool • Remove sealing bead with KM-J-37228

Install

  1. 18. Clean sealing surfaces.
  2. 19. Apply a bead of oil pan sealant approx. 3.5 mm thick to separating joints (arrows)
  1. 20. Apply oil pan sealant to oil pan • Apply a 3.5 mm thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) as shown

Note. The fitting time including torque check must not exceed 10 min.•

  1. 21. Attach pan • Tighten 15x bolt on cylinder block 10 Nm • Tighten 3x bolt on gearbox 40 Nm
  2. 22. Connect engine oil level sensor wiring harness plug
  3. 23. Fit front exhaust pipe with front muffler • Use new gasket • Tighten 3x nut 20 Nm – Use new nuts • Fit 2x rubber dampers
  4. 24. Install rear muffler • Attach rear muffler to exhaust pipe • Insert 3x into rubber damper • Tighten screwed joint 20 Nm
  5. 25. Fit lower engine compartment cover / splash protection
  6. 26. Lower vehicle by its entire height
  7. 27. Install oil dipstick guide tube • Insert oil dipstick guide tube into oil pan – Replace O-ring • Tighten bolt 8 Nm
  8. 28. Top up engine oil.
  9. 29. Connect battery.
  10. 30. Program volatile memories
  11. 31. Close bonnet
