Replace Left-Hand Engine Damping Block Opel Vectra C

DOHC Petrol Engine 5 illustrations ~445 words

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery. • Detach ground clamp from ground terminal – Remove nut
  3. 3. Remove battery support. • Unclip catch • Remove side of battery support (2) • Unclip 3 wiring harnesses from battery support • Unscrew 3x bolt (1)
  1. 4. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  2. 5. Remove lower engine compartment cover and right-hand engine splash guard if present
  3. 6. Attach KM-6313 (1) • Place KM-6313 on left on front axle body (arrows, Fig. I) • Attach both right holders on the front axle body (arrows, Illus. II). • Tighten 2x bolt • Adjust support bearings front and rear – Raise support bearings to stop on guide journals

Note. Attaching KM-6313 guarantees perfect alignment of the drive unit to the front axle body

Note. Guide pin must be seated in bore in front axle body

Note. Guide pin must be seated in bore in front axle body (arrow, Illus. III)

Note. Guide journals must sit play-free in support bearings

  1. 7. Adjust 3x support • Transmission side • Engine Timing Side

Note. Turn spindles until the mounts (1) are positioned at the guide journals free of play

Note. Insert support journal into cylinder block bore without play (arrow). Tighten bolts, nut and support

  1. 8. Lower vehicle by its entire height
  2. 9. Remove engine damping block support left (2) • Unscrew 6x bolts (1) and (3)
  3. 10. Detach engine damping block with holder (4) from side member • Unscrew 4x bolt
  1. 11. Detach engine damping block bracket (1) • Clamp in vice • Remove bolt

Install

  1. 12. Attach engine damping block to mount • Tighten bolt 55 Nm
  2. 13. Remove engine damping block from vice
  3. 14. Attach engine damping block to side member • Tighten 4x bolt 20 Nm
  4. 15. Attach left engine damping block mount • Attach engine damping block mount to transmission – Tighten 3x bolt 55 Nm • Attach engine damping block to mount – Tighten 3 bolts 55 Nm
  5. 16. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  6. 17. Detach 3x support • Lower 3 brackets • Release 2x bolt
  7. 18. Detach KM-6313 • Release 2x bolt
  8. 19. Install lower engine compartment cover and right-hand engine splash guard if present
  9. 20. Lower vehicle by its entire height
  10. 21. Install battery support • Clip in catch • Install side of battery support • Clip 3x wiring harnesses to battery support • Tighten 3x bolt
  11. 22. Install battery. • Install battery bracket – Tighten bolt 5 Nm • Attach positive connection to positive terminal – Tighten nuts
  12. 23. Connect battery. • Attach ground clamp to ground terminal – Tighten nuts
  13. 24. Program volatile memories
  14. 25. Close bonnet
