Replace Toothed Belt Opel Vectra C

Remove

  1. 1. Remove front toothed belt cover (lower)
  2. 2. Detach KM-6625 • Remove screwed connection
  3. 3. Set engine to TDC • Screw in torsional vibration damper bolt • Move crankshaft to cylinder no.1 TDC in direction of engine rotation (III)
  4. 4. Lower vehicle
  5. 5. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Position camshaft sprockets so that the marks (arrows) are facing each other • Attach KM-6340-Left to intake camshaft sprocket (I) • Insert KM-6340-Right (II)
  6. 6. Remove toothed belt • Mark direction of rotation • Tension toothed belt tensioner clockwise with Allen key and fix in position using KM-6333 (IV) – Remove toothed belts.

Install

  1. 7. Insert toothed belt • Insert toothed belt (1) in assembly tool (2) provided – Note direction of running on directional toothed belt • Guide toothed belt with assembly tool through the engine damping block mount • Remove assembly tool

Note. Threading the toothed belt through the engine damping block mount is permitted only in connection with the assembly tool supplied with the new toothed belt, else it is possible to damage the belt by kinking.

  1. 8. Position toothed belt • Place toothed belt onto outlet camshaft sprocket • Place toothed belt onto inlet camshaft sprocket • Route toothed belt past tensioning and guide pulleys and onto toothed belt drive wheel • Tension toothed belt tensioner and remove KM-6333 – Toothed belt tensioner automatically assumes the correct position

Note. Note running direction

  1. 9. Remove KM-6340
  2. 10. Raise vehicle
  3. 11. Turn crankshaft 720° • 2 turns in direction of engine rotation • Move toothed belt drive wheel to cylinder no.1 TDC mark (arrows)
  1. 12. Lower vehicle
  2. 13. Fix camshaft sprockets in position using KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) at KM-6340 must align - otherwise remove toothed belt and refit

  1. 14. Remove KM-6340
  2. 15. Raise vehicle
  3. 16. Block crankshaft. • Attach KM-6625 – Remove screwed connection (1) – Insert KM-6625 (2) – Tighten screwed joint (3)
  1. 17. Attach front toothed belt cover (lower)
