Check Compression (Z 20 NET, AC, Rhd, Mt) Opel Vectra C

DOHC Petrol Engine 4 illustrations ~262 words

Note. Condition: engine at operating temperature (minimum oil temperature 80°C)

Inspect

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Detach upper engine cover
  3. 3. Disconnect cylinder head cover • Unscrew 4x bolt
  4. 4. Remove 4x ignition coils • Unscrew 4x bolt • Disconnect 4x wiring harness plugs
  1. 5. Remove 4x spark plug • Use KM-194-E
  1. 6. Remove charge air hose

Important. Do not disconnect wiring harness plug (1)

  1. 7. Detach throttle valve module • Detach engine cover bracket – Unscrew 2x nut • Unscrew 2x bolt (3) • Unscrew 2x stud bolt (2) • Remove gasket.
  1. 8. Disconnect injection pump relay • Open luggage compartment lid • Open service flap • Disconnect relay (1)
  1. 9. Check compression • 4 cylinders • Start engine (approx. 4 seconds) • Compare compression values – Maximum permissible pressure difference: 100 kPa (1 bar).

Note. 2nd mechanic is required

Note. Minimum engine speed 300 rpm

  1. 10. Connect injection pump relay • Connect relay • Close service flap • Close luggage compartment lid
  2. 11. Install throttle valve module • Replace gasket • Tighten 2x bolt – Tightening torque 9 Nm • Tighten 2x stud bolt – Tightening torque 10 Nm • Attach engine cover bracket – Tighten 2x nut
  3. 12. Attach charge air hose. • Tighten 2x clamp 3,5 Nm
  4. 13. Install 4x spark plug • Use KM-194-E – Tightening torque 25 Nm
  5. 14. Fit 4x ignition coils • Tighten 4x bolt – Tightening torque 9 Nm
  6. 15. Disconnect cylinder head cover • Tighten 4x bolt
  7. 16. Attach upper engine cover
  8. 17. Close bonnet
