Press corresponding key in the system main menu to call up Programming functions, select the desired test and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the diagnostic tester display. Before programming, make sure that the correct control unit is installed in the vehicle. Compare the following display text with the corresponding table (see chapter 3.3 Control Unit Part and Catalogue Number) or the newest Technical Information Bulletin "TI".
If the correct control unit is installed, the diagnostic tester confirms this by displaying the following submenu:INIT. - CODING F0:RESET F1:CHANGE
Select RESET to program the control unit to the basic application. Note that this will reset block learn values, idle speed and other adjustments to their default values. If this mode is used for a vehicle that has already been programmed previously, the idle speed value must be re-adjusted afterwards. Select CHANGE from the menu if you want to modify various different characteristic curves of the engine. The only option allowed at this time is the programming of the basic application code. More details on this programming function will be published in Technical Information Bulletins "TI's". Therefore, this mode should not be used until these bulletins are available. If the function is selected by mistake, check that the idle speed adjustment is changed, and re-check the idle speed value afterwards.
