Replacing Exhaust Manifold Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Remove engine compartment cover
3. 3. Detach heat shield (4) • Detach engine transport shackle (1) – Unscrew nut (2) • Unscrew 3x stud bolt (3)

4. 4. Raise vehicle by its full height
5. 5. Detach front exhaust pipe (2) • Unscrew 3x nuts (1)

6. 6. Lower vehicle by its full height
7. 7. Release fuel line on bulkhead • Unclip 3x fuel line
8. 8. Remove exhaust manifold (1) • Unscrew 10x nut – Remove gasket (2)

Install

9. 9. Clean sealing surfaces. • exhaust manifold, cylinder head
10. 10. Install exhaust manifold • Replace gasket • Tighten 10x new nut 12 Nm – Wait 30 Sec, then re-tighten 12 Nm
11. 11. Raise vehicle by its full height
12. 12. Install front exhaust pipe • Tighten 3x nut 20 Nm – Use new nuts
13. 13. Lower vehicle by its full height
14. 14. Attach fuel line on bulkhead • Clip in 3x fuel line
15. 15. Attach heat shield • Tighten 3x stud bolt 23 Nm • Fit engine transport shackle – Tighten nut
16. 16. Install engine compartment cover
17. 17. Close bonnet
