Replace Cylinder Head Cover Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Remove engine cover
3. 3. Remove ignition module (3) • Pull ignition module cover (1) upwards • Release and disconnect wiring harness plug (2) for ignition module • Unscrew 4x bolts (arrows)

4. 4. Place collecting basin underneath.

5. 5. Detach engine vent hose from cylinder head cover • Release clamp (1)
6. 6. Remove coolant pipe (3) • Unscrew bolt (4) • Release clamp (2) • Unclip coolant pipe from wiring harness bracket (5) and place to one side
7. 7. Detach wiring harness bracket • Unscrew 2x nuts
8. 8. Detach wiring harness bracket, timing side • Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows)

9. 9. Detach wiring harness bracket, transmission side • Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows)

10. 10. Remove cylinder head cover • Unscrew 14x bolt (arrows)

11. 11. Clean sealing surfaces.

Install

12. 12. Replace cylinder head gasket • Clean sealing surfaces.
13. 13. Install cylinder head cover • Tighten 14 bolts 9 Nm
14. 14. Install wiring harness bracket, transmission side • Tighten 2x bolts
15. 15. Install wiring harness bracket, timing side • Tighten 2x bolts
16. 16. Install wiring harness bracket • Tighten 2x nuts
17. 17. Install coolant pipe • Clip coolant pipe into bracket • Tighten bolt • Fasten clamp
18. 18. Attach engine vent hose to cylinder head cover • Fasten clamp
19. 19. Install ignition module • Tighten 4x bolt 9 Nm • Attach ignition module cover • Connect and lock ignition module wiring harness plug
20. 20. Attach engine cover
21. 21. Check and correct coolant level
22. 22. Close bonnet
