How to Replace the Resonator Opel Astra H

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach earth connection from earth terminal – Slacken nut
  3. 3. Remove air intake pipe • Detach from air cleaner housing and resonator
  4. 4. Remove radiator grille • Remove 4x body-bound rivets (1) • Unclip radiator grille (2) upwards from front panelling

Note. Or unscrew 3x bolts

  1. 5. For vehicles with air conditioning • Detach condenser from radiator – Secure condenser to upper front with retaining straps (1) – Unscrew 4x bolts (2) and (3)

Note. Secure loosely, so that the condenser can be pushed down and away, and the resonator can be removed towards the front

  1. 6. Remove resonator (1) • Unscrew bolt (2) • Unclip 3x from upper front (arrows)

Note. Remove towards the front.

Install

  1. 7. Install resonator • Clip in 3x at upper front • Tighten bolt
  2. 8. For vehicles with air conditioning: • Attach condenser to radiator – Tighten 4x bolts – Detach retaining strap from top front
  3. 9. Install radiator grille • Clip into front panelling from below • Install 4x body-bound rivets

Note. Or tighten 3x bolts

  1. 10. Install air intake pipe. • Attach to air cleaner housing and resonator
  2. 11. Connect battery • Tighten nut
  3. 12. Program volatile memories
  4. 13. Close bonnet
