How to Check the Compression Opel Astra H

Note. Condition: Engine at operating temperature (oil temperature min. 80 °C)

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Remove engine cover
3. 3. Remove ignition module (1) • Unscrew 4x bolts (2) • Release and unplug wiring harness plug

4. 4. Remove 4 spark plugs with KM-194-E

5. 5. Establish communication • Connect Tech 2 • Call actuator test • Select compression test
6. 6. Check compression using compression testing device • 4 cylinder • Start engine (approx. 4 seconds) • Compare compression values

Note. 2nd mechanic is required

Note. Engine revs at least 300 rpm

7. 7. Stop communication • Remove Tech 2

Install

8. 8. Install spark plugs • Tighten 4 spark plugs using KM-194-E 25 Nm
9. 9. Attach ignition module • Tighten 4x bolt 9 Nm • Connect and lock wiring harness plug
10. 10. Attach engine cover
11. 11. Close bonnet
