Note. When working on the fuel system, cleanliness must be strictly observed as even small particles of dirt can lead to faults in the engine or fuel system. The injectors may only be removed with the engine cold and with unequivocal diagnosis.

1. 1. Disconnect battery
2. 2. Remove engine cover
3. 3. Release fuel pressure Warning: Comply with safety regulations and national legislation. • Use KM-J-34730-91 • Unscrew protective cap from test connection • From fuel line

4. 4. Detach fuel connection line • Open latch • Seal off fuel line – Use KM-807 and KM-796-A
5. 5. Detach high-pressure fuel line • Unscrew 2x union nuts • Seal off fuel system – Use KM-6326-1

Important. Collect emerging fuel.

6. 6. Detach high-pressure fuel pump • Unscrew 3 bolts

Note. Collect escaping engine oil.

7. 7. Clean sealing surfaces.

Install

8. 8. Attach high-pressure fuel pump • Replace gasket • Tighten 3x bolt 8 Nm
9. 9. Attach high-pressure fuel line • Remove KM-6326-1 • Tighten 2x union nuts 25 Nm
10. 10. Attach fuel connection line • Remove KM-807
11. 11. Connect battery
12. 12. Fuel System, Check for Leaks • Start engine.

Important. Wear protective goggles and protective gloves.

Note. Check fuel system for escaping fuel.

13. 13. Attach engine cover
14. 14. Close bonnet
15. 15. Program volatile memories
