Removing and Installing Engine Vent Pipe Opel Astra H

Remove

  1. 1. Remove air intake manifold • Unscrew bolt (2)
  2. 2. Remove engine vent hose from cylinder head cover • Release clamp (4)
  3. 3. Detach air intake pipe from air intake hose • Release clamp (1) – Release clamp
  4. 4. Detach air intake pipe from turbocharger • Release clamp (3)

Note. Seal air intake pipe at turbocharger

  1. 5. Remove air intake pipe
  1. 6. Remove engine vent hose (3)
  2. 7. Detach front coolant pipe (1) with engine transport shackle from cylinder head and put to side
  3. 8. Detach heat shield (2) from exhaust manifold and remove
  1. 9. Remove 2x bolt (1) and remove engine vent flange.
  1. 10. Clean sealing surfaces.

Install

  1. 11. Fit new gasket (2)

Note. Note installation position, bead (3) must point upward towards engine vent flange

  1. 12. Attach engine vent flange to cylinder block 25 Nm
  2. 13. Attach heat shield to exhaust manifold 9 Nm
  3. 14. Attach front coolant pipe with engine transport shackle to cylinder head 20 Nm
  4. 15. Install engine vent hose
  5. 16. Remove seal from turbocharger air intake pipe
  6. 17. Attach engine vent hose to cylinder head cover • Fasten clamp
  7. 18. Attach air intake pipe to turbocharger • Fasten clamp
  8. 19. Attach air intake pipe to air intake hose • Fasten clamp
  9. 20. Screw in bolt
