Replace Left Engine Damping Block Opel Astra H

KM-6001-A

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Completely disconnect battery • Detach earth connection from earth terminal – Slacken nut • Detach positive connection from positive terminal – Slacken nut
  3. 3. Remove battery • Remove battery bracket – Unscrew bolt • Remove battery and insulation
  4. 4. Remove battery support (1) • Unscrew 3x bolts (3) • Unclip coolant hose bracket (4) • Detach wiring harness (2) from battery support – Unclip 3x
  1. 5. Raise vehicle by its full height
  2. 6. Remove lower engine compartment cover (2) • Unscrew 4x bolts (1) • Remove 2x body-bound rivets (3)
  1. 7. Attach KM-6001-A (1) • Slacken 3x bolts (arrows) in adjusting rails • Insert KM-6001-A – Insert journals (2) and (5) in guide holes in front axle body • Adjust support bearings, front (4) and rear (3) – Raise support bearings up to the stop on the guide journals • Tighten 3x bolts in adjusting rails

Note. Attaching KM-6001-A guarantees perfect alignment of the drive unit with the front axle body

Note. The guide journals must be seated free from play in the support bearings

  1. 8. Lower vehicle by half its height
  2. 9. Release left wheel housing inner panelling • Unscrew 2x bolts (1) • Remove 3x body-bound rivet (2)
  3. 10. Unscrew engine damping block nut (3)
  1. 11. Lower vehicle by half its height
  2. 12. Detach engine damping block from engine damping block support • Unscrew 3x bolts (1)
  3. 13. Detach engine damping block from side member • Unscrew 4x bolts (2)
  4. 14. Detach engine damping block support from transmission • Unscrew 4x bolts (3)
  1. 15. Remove engine damping block

Install

  1. 16. Insert engine damping block
  2. 17. Attach engine damping block support to transmission • Tighten 4x bolt 35 Nm
  3. 18. Fit engine damping block to longitudinal beam • Tighten 4x bolt 20 Nm
  4. 19. Attach the engine damping block to the engine damping block support. • Tighten 3x bolt 55 Nm
  5. 20. Raise vehicle by half its height
  6. 21. Tighten engine damping block nut 20 Nm
  7. 22. Attach wheel arch inner panelling, left • Tighten 2x bolts • Fit 3x body-bound rivets
  8. 23. Raise vehicle by half its height
  9. 24. Remove engine mount KM-6001-A • Undo 3x bolts
  10. 25. Install lower engine compartment cover • Tighten 4x bolts • Install 2x body-bound rivets
  11. 26. Lower vehicle by its full height
  12. 27. Install battery holder • Tighten 3x bolt 15 Nm • Attach wiring harness to battery support – Fasten 3 cable ties
  13. 28. Install battery • Install battery bracket – Tighten bolt 7 Nm
  14. 29. Completely connect battery • Attach ground connection to ground terminal – Tighten nut • Attach positive connection to positive terminal – Tighten nut
  15. 30. Program volatile memories
  16. 31. Close bonnet
