With model year 2007.5, the Astra-H will be available with the newly designed Z 16 XER petrol engine for all body variants except the L 70 (delivery van). The engine block is the same as the one in the existing Z 16 XEP. The cylinder head, on the other hand, is largely taken from the Z 18 XER petrol engine, and thus has the adjustable camshafts and variable intake manifold.
