Remove and Install Valve Lifters Opel Vectra C

Remove

1. 1. Detach toothed belt
2. 2. Detach camshaft sprocket • Remove bolt (2) • Use EN-46787 (1) and KM-956-1

Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor (arrow) when counterholding.

3. 3. Detach 2x vacuum hoses
4. 4. Detach vacuum pump (1) • Unscrew 3x bolt (2)

5. 5. Release 2x vacuum lines • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)

6. 6. Detach 2x hoses (1) • Release 2x clamp

7. 7. Detach camshaft housing cover • Unscrew 7x bolt (arrows)

8. 8. Turn crankshaft • Turn crankshaft approx. 90° in the opposite direction to the direction of engine rotation
9. 9. Remove camshaft (2) • Unscrew 12x bolt (1) • Remove oil line • Remove 5x camshaft bearing cover • Remove camshaft seal ring

Note. Release bearing cover step by step 1/2 to 1 turn from the outside to the inside. Camshaft must release itself evenly from the bearing seat.

Note. Note allocation.

10. 10. Remove valve lifters • Remove 8x valve lifters (1)

Install

11. 11. Install valve lifters • Insert 8x valve lifters
12. 12. Install camshaft • Position oil line • Position 5x camshaft bearing cover • Insert bearing cover 1 and 5 with sealant (grey) • 12x bolts 15 Nm

Important. Note allocation.

Note. Tighten step by step in a spiral from inside to outside.

13. 13. Install camshaft seal ring • Replace seal ring
14. 14. Clean sealing surface
15. 15. Attach camshaft housing cover • Replace gasket • 7x bolts 10 Nm
16. 16. Attach 2x hose • Secure 2x clamp
17. 17. Fasten 2x vacuum lines • 2x bolts 9 Nm
18. 18. Clean sealing surface
19. 19. Attach vacuum pump • Replace gasket • 3x bolts 20 Nm
20. 20. Attach 2x vacuum hoses
21. 21. Attach camshaft sprocket • Bolt 120 Nm • Use EN-46787 and KM-956-1 • Position camshaft on marking

Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor when counterholding.

22. 22. Turn crankshaft • Turn camshaft in direction of engine rotation to TDC cylinder 1
23. 23. Attach toothed belt
