Remove
- 1. Detach toothed belt
- 2. Detach camshaft sprocket • Remove bolt (2) • Use EN-46787 (1) and KM-956-1
Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor (arrow) when counterholding.
- 3. Detach 2x vacuum hoses
- 4. Detach vacuum pump (1) • Unscrew 3x bolt (2)
- 5. Release 2x vacuum lines • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
- 6. Detach 2x hoses (1) • Release 2x clamp
- 7. Detach camshaft housing cover • Unscrew 7x bolt (arrows)
- 8. Turn crankshaft • Turn crankshaft approx. 90° in the opposite direction to the direction of engine rotation
- 9. Remove camshaft (2) • Unscrew 12x bolt (1) • Remove oil line • Remove 5x camshaft bearing cover • Remove camshaft seal ring
Note. Release bearing cover step by step 1/2 to 1 turn from the outside to the inside. Camshaft must release itself evenly from the bearing seat.
Note. Note allocation.
- 10. Remove valve lifters • Remove 8x valve lifters (1)
Install
- 11. Install valve lifters • Insert 8x valve lifters
- 12. Install camshaft • Position oil line • Position 5x camshaft bearing cover • Insert bearing cover 1 and 5 with sealant (grey) • 12x bolts 15 Nm
Important. Note allocation.
Note. Tighten step by step in a spiral from inside to outside.
- 13. Install camshaft seal ring • Replace seal ring
- 14. Clean sealing surface
- 15. Attach camshaft housing cover • Replace gasket • 7x bolts 10 Nm
- 16. Attach 2x hose • Secure 2x clamp
- 17. Fasten 2x vacuum lines • 2x bolts 9 Nm
- 18. Clean sealing surface
- 19. Attach vacuum pump • Replace gasket • 3x bolts 20 Nm
- 20. Attach 2x vacuum hoses
- 21. Attach camshaft sprocket • Bolt 120 Nm • Use EN-46787 and KM-956-1 • Position camshaft on marking
Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor when counterholding.
- 22. Turn crankshaft • Turn camshaft in direction of engine rotation to TDC cylinder 1
- 23. Attach toothed belt
