Remove and Install Camshaft Opel Vectra C

Remove

  1. 1. Detach toothed belt
  2. 2. Detach camshaft sprocket • Remove bolt (2) • Use EN-46787 (1) and KM-956-1

Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor (arrow) when counterholding.

  1. 3. Detach 2x vacuum hoses
  2. 4. Detach vacuum pump (1) • Unscrew 3x bolt (2)
  1. 5. Release 2x vacuum lines • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
  1. 6. Detach 2x hoses (1) • Release 2x clamp
  1. 7. Detach camshaft housing cover • Unscrew 7x bolt (arrows)
  1. 8. Turn crankshaft • Turn crankshaft approx. 90° in the opposite direction to the direction of engine rotation
  2. 9. Remove camshaft (2) • Unscrew 12x bolt (1) • Remove oil line • Remove 5x camshaft bearing cover • Remove camshaft seal ring

Note. Release bearing cover step by step 1/2 to 1 turn from the outside to the inside. Camshaft must release itself evenly from the bearing seat.

Note. Note allocation.

Install

  1. 10. Install camshaft • Position oil line • Position 5x camshaft bearing cover • Insert bearing cover 1 and 5 with sealant (grey) • 12x bolts 15 Nm

Important. Note allocation.

Note. Tighten step by step in a spiral from inside to outside.

  1. 11. Install camshaft seal ring
  2. 12. Clean sealing surface
  3. 13. Attach camshaft housing cover • Replace gasket • 7x bolts 10 Nm
  4. 14. Attach 2x hose • Secure 2x clamp
  5. 15. Fasten 2x vacuum lines • 2x bolts 9 Nm
  6. 16. Clean sealing surface
  7. 17. Attach vacuum pump • Replace gasket • 3x bolts 20 Nm
  8. 18. Attach 2x vacuum hoses
  9. 19. Attach camshaft sprocket • Bolt 120 Nm • Use EN-46787 and KM-956-1 • Position camshaft on marking

Important. Do not damage camshaft sensor when counterholding.

  1. 20. Turn crankshaft • Turn camshaft in direction of engine rotation to TDC cylinder 1
  2. 21. Attach toothed belt
