Check Engine Compression Loss Opel Vectra C

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Waiting period for pressure release
  3. 3. Disconnect battery.
  4. 4. Remove pollen filter housing
  5. 5. Release front wheel • Release 5x bolt
  6. 6. Raise vehicle
  7. 7. Detach front wheel • Unscrew 5x bolt
  8. 8. Raise vehicle
  9. 9. Detach lower engine compartment cover and right-hand engine splash protection if necessary
  10. 10. Lower vehicle

Note. Wheels must be in contact with the ground.

  1. 11. Detach engine cover. • Unscrew 2x bolt • Unscrew oil filler cap • Remove engine cover • Screw in oil filler cap
  2. 12. Detach wiring harness • Unscrew 4x bolt (1) • Disconnect 4x injector wiring harness plugs (2)

Important. When releasing the lock nut, counterhold at injector with open-ended wrench

  1. 13. Remove 4x pressure lines • Release 8x lock nuts (1)
  1. 14. Remove 4x injectors • Detach leaked oil hose • Unscrew 4x nut

Note. If injectors cannot be removed manually, use EN-46786 in conjunction with KM-328-B . Attach sealing plugs to the injectors removed (arrows).

  1. 15. Withdraw oil dipstick
  2. 16. Detach cover, coolant compensation tank
  3. 17. Release top of toothed belt cover • Unscrew 5x bolt • Loosen bolt • Unclip wiring harness
  1. 18. Set cylinder 1 to TDC.

Note. Marking on camshaft sprocket (1) must align with marking on camshaft housing cover (2). Apply temporary marking to camshaft sprocket (every 90°).

Install

  1. 19. Attach adapter and pressure loss tester to cylinder 1 • Use EN-46783 and EN-46791
  2. 20. Engage gear and apply hand brake.
  3. 21. Calibrate pressure loss tester
  4. 22. Check pressure loss of cylinder 1 • With compression loss tester

Note. Note manufacturer's instructions.

  1. 23. Set cylinder 3 to TDC
  2. 24. Transfer adapter and pressure loss tester to cylinder 3
  3. 25. Check pressure loss of cylinder 3
  4. 26. Set cylinder 4 to TDC.
  5. 27. Transfer adapter and pressure loss tester to cylinder 4
  6. 28. Check pressure loss of cylinder 4
  7. 29. Set cylinder 2 to TDC.
  8. 30. Transfer adapter and pressure loss tester to cylinder 2
  9. 31. Check pressure loss of cylinder 2
  10. 32. Engage neutral.
  11. 33. Remove adapter and pressure loss tester from cylinder 2 • Remove EN-46783 and EN-46791
  12. 34. Attach cover, coolant compensation tank
  13. 35. Insert oil dipstick
  14. 36. Cleaning work • Insert EN-47632 in the injector shaft with coarse fleece and perform initial cleaning of injector seat by turning the fleece. Then complete cleaning operation with fine fleece.

Note. Use EN-47632 to clean the injector seats

  1. 37. Install 4x injectors • Replace 4x seal ring • 4x nuts 32 Nm • Attach leaked oil hose

Important. Pressure lines may only be installed once. When fastening the lock nuts, counterhold at the injector with an open-ended wrench.

  1. 38. Install 4x pressure lines • Renew 4x pressure lines • 4x lock nuts (M14) 30 Nm • 4x lock nuts (M12) 22 Nm
  2. 39. Attach wiring harness • Tighten 4x bolt • Connect 4x injector wiring harness plugs
  3. 40. Fasten top of toothed belt cover • 4x bolts 9 Nm • 2x bolts 25 Nm • Attach wiring harness
  4. 41. Attach engine cover. • Unscrew oil filler cap • Place engine cover in position • Screw in oil filler cap • 2x bolts 9 Nm
  5. 42. Raise vehicle
  6. 43. Attach lower engine compartment cover and right-hand engine splash protection if removed
  7. 44. Lower vehicle
  8. 45. Attach front wheel • Screw in 5x bolt
  9. 46. Lower vehicle
  10. 47. Tighten front wheel • 5x bolts 110 Nm
  11. 48. Install air cleaner housing
  12. 49. Connect battery.

Important. Wear protective goggles and gloves.

  1. 50. Check fuel system for leaks • Start engine.

Note. Check fuel system for escaping fuel.

  1. 51. Close bonnet
  2. 52. Program volatile memories
