- 1. Remove piston with con-rod
Important. Do not damage pistons and con-rods. Use protective jaws.
- 2. Clamp piston (1) with con-rod (3) in vice.
- 3. Remove 2x retaining ring for piston pin (2)
- 4. Remove piston pin (4) • Push piston pin out of the piston and con-rod by hand • Take out piston
Important. When assembling the piston and the con-rod, note cut-out in the piston for the oil spray nozzle (arrow).
- 5. Install piston pin • Place piston with pin on to the con-rod • Push in piston pin until the annular groove is freely accessible
Note. Coat piston pin with engine oil. Push piston pin into the piston by hand until the con-rod can be inserted.
- 6. Install 2x retaining rings for piston pin • 2x replace retaining ring • Insert 2x retaining ring in annular groove
Note. Note position of the ring joint. Ring joint must be in the region of measurement I (max 30°).
- 7. Fit 3x piston ring • Adjust 3x piston ring – Arrange joints offset by 120°
Note. Install piston rings with piston ring pliers. Maximum spread of the ring joint 28 mm. Note markings on piston rings.
- 8. Remove piston with con-rod from vice
- 9. Fit pistons with con-rods
