Important: Extreme cleanliness is important when working on the fuel system, since even minute dirt particles can cause engine or fuel system problems. Open fuel connections must be sealed with suitable sealing plugs from the Opel parts catalogue (catalogue number: 45 06 154 / part number: 9201697). Sealing plugs are determined for one-off use.
Remove
- 1. Remove high pressure pump spur gear
- 2. Remove lower parts of intake manifold
- 3. Remove cylinder head vent hose (2) • Release 2x clamp
- 4. Detach 3 fuel lines (1) • Detach bracket for fuel lines (3) – Remove bolt • Unscrew banjo bolt and 2 nuts – Remove gasket, 4x seal ring • Lay aside 3x fuel line
Note. Collect fuel with a suitable container.
- 5. Remove high pressure pump (2) • Unscrew 4x bolt (1)
Note. Note dissimilar bolt lengths
Install
- 6. Install high pressure pump • Replace seal ring • Tighten 4x bolt 24.1 Nm
Note. Note different bolt lengths
- 7. Attach 3x fuel line • Tighten banjo bolt 12 Nm – Replace gasket • Tighten 2x nut 25 Nm – Replace 4x seal ring • Attach bracket, fuel lines – Tighten bolt 10 Nm
- 8. Install cylinder head vent hose • Secure 2x clamp
- 9. Install lower parts of intake manifold
- 10. Install high pressure pump spur gear
