Replace Knock Sensor for Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 Opel Vectra C

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery.
  3. 3. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  4. 4. Place collecting basin underneath.
  5. 5. Drain coolant • Attach a suitable hose to the drain connection • Open drain bolt (arrow) • Drain coolant • Close drain bolt

Important. Secure the flexible part of the exhaust pipe to prevent it from sagging

  1. 6. Detach exhaust system from pre-catalytic converter • Unscrew 3x nut (1)
  1. 7. Detach 2 pre-catalytic converter brackets (1) • Unscrew 4x bolt
  1. 8. Remove coolant hose (1) from coolant pipe • Open quick-release fitting
  1. 9. Expose wiring harness
  2. 10. Detach knock sensor heat shield for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 (1) • Unscrew 2x bolt (2)
  1. 11. Detach knock sensor for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 • Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) • Remove bolt (2)

Install

  1. 12. Install knock sensor for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 • Tighten bolt 23 Nm • Connect wiring harness plug
  2. 13. Attach knock sensor heat shield for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 • Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm • Clip in cable ties
  3. 14. Route wiring harness
  4. 15. Attach coolant line hose • Push on • Close retainer
  5. 16. Attach bracket to left exhaust system • Tighten 2x bolt
  6. 17. Attach exhaust system at front • Insert new gasket • Tighten 3x nut 20 Nm
  7. 18. Attach pre-catalytic converter bracket • Tighten 2 bolts on exhaust pipe flange 20 Nm • Tighten 2x bolt on oil pan 20 Nm
  8. 19. Lower vehicle by its entire height
  9. 20. Connect battery.
  10. 21. Program volatile memories
  11. 22. Top up and bleed cooling system
  12. 23. Close bonnet
