The CRIP2-MI injector is a component that is manufactured with extreme precision.
The manufacturing tolerances between the needle shaft and the high-pressure piston are just 3 µm. This extremely high injector precision means that extreme cleanliness must be maintained during all work on the common rail system. Even impurities of the magnitude of 1/1000 mm can cause the common rail system to fail.
The injectors are subjected to a function test during production. The flow rates are measured under different operating conditions during the test. The result is specified on each injector as the "QR code".
When an injector is replaced the "QR code" of the new injector must be stored in the engine control unit using TECH2. This procedure records the injector correction parameters that are needed in the engine control unit. These correction parameters make it possible for the engine control unit to accurately apportion the injected quantity.

• Service: Extreme cleanliness is required when working on the common rail system. Impurities must be avoided at all costs. When lines are being opened or components are being removed, always use the sealing plugs that are available from the parts service department. Sealing plug part number: 9 201 697
