Function Check QOS - II
Before commencing the checks as specified in the Checking Program (see section 4.2.2) first check whether the pre - heating system is functioning properly
· Measure voltage with a multimeter between the glow plug connection and ground
· Disconnect wiring harness plug from the coolant temperature switch
· Switch "ON" the ignition
The indicator light should come on for approx. 3.5 seconds
The multimeter should indicate approx. 11 V for approx. 18 seconds
· Switch "OFF" the ignition
· Switch "ON" the ignition
The indicator light should come on for approx. 3.5 seconds
· Turn the ignition and starter switch to the start position
The multimeter should indicate battery voltage (approx. 8 V)
· Release the ignition and starter switch to the ignition "ON" position, engine idling
The multimeter should indicate approx. 11 V for approx. 18 seconds
