The Cold Start Device automatically advances the fuel injection timing with a cold engine by increasing the injection pump internal pressure. With this easier starting and less smoke is accomplished.
The cold start device circuit consists of a cold start device solenoid valve, a cold start device relay and the coolant temperature switch used for the pre - heating system.
When the engine temperature is below 3 °C / 37 °F the cold start device solenoid will be activated, the injection timing will be advanced with approx. 10 °.
When the engine temperature has raised above 10 °C / 50 °F the cold start device will be deactivated.
