General Information QOS - II
The QOS - II preheating system consists of the starter switch, a QOS - II controller, a glow relay and a coolant temperature switch.
When the coolant temperature sensed by the coolant temperature switch has raised above
10 °C / 50 °F the pre - heating system will not be activated. When the ignition is switched "ON" the indicator light will come on for approx. 0.3 seconds.
When the coolant temperature sensed by the coolant temperature switch has dropped below 3 °C / 37 °F the pre - heating system will be activated. The glow time can be divided into two parts, pre - glowing, (pre - heating) when the ignition is switch "ON" and after glowing, when the engine is started.
Pre - glowing will start when the ignition is switched "ON". The glow plugs will be heated for 18 seconds. The indicator light will come on for approx. 3.5 seconds.
When the ignition and starter switch is turned to the start position the pre - glowing is ended and the after glowing is started. With after glowing the glow plugs are activated for another 18 seconds. When after glowing the glow plugs are heated with the same voltage as when pre - glowing (no dropping resistor).
After glowing will start every time the engine is started and the engine coolant temperature is below 3 °C / 37 °F.
Pre - glowing will start every time the ignition is switched "ON" and the engine coolant temperature is below 3 °C / 37 °F.
