Depress accelerator pedal briefly to full load stop (accelerate fully)greater than 0 5CA

Note:

This test will only function if the accelerator pedal is depressed briefly to full load stop once, not several times in a row.

Note:

Test step 43 displays the ignition retard in the event of knocking combustion.

In these cases, a statement can be made about:

· Poor fuel quality (octane rating too low):

· Carbon deposits (deposits on piston head and valves):

· Extreme short distance operation (cause of carbon deposits)

Possible remedies:

· Change fuel brand

· Check compression

The knock control is monitored / checked by the control unit self - diagnosis and can only be simulated in operation under extreme conditions and with some difficulty.

On fault recognition, the control unit retards the firing angle by 10 °CA for reasons of safety to avoid damage to the engine.
