Press key F7 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

When asked whether the correct control unit is installed, proceed according to the following instructions and / or the latest Technical Information Bulletins.

At present, the Frontera with the 20 SE or X 20 SE engine is equipped with the following control unit:--

Alpha Code: AB

At present, the Frontera with the 22 XE or X 22 XE engine is equipped with the following control unit:

Opel Part No.: 91151854

Alpha Code: AD

If the question is answered with "YES", TECH 1 shows the display on the right:

The display shows the engine programmed in the control unit at present, or "unknown".

If "unknown" appears in the display, or a different engine is to be programmed, proceed with NO and select the relevant engine in the following chart:

20 SE, 22 XE (open loop oxygen sensor circuit)

X 20 SE, X 22 XE (closed loop oxygen sensor circuit)

If the display on the right appears after programming is completed, a fault has occurred during programming.

Carry out the following measures consecutively:

· Read trouble code; no trouble codes should be stored;

· Repeat programming;

· Carry out TECH 1 self - test;

· Check TECH 1 cable for damaged insulation and shielding;

· Repeat programming with new engine control unitVARIANT CODING
