Idle Speed Adjuster
The idle speed adjuster is flanged directly to the throttle body.
This means that the previously used hose connections are not required.
The idle speed adjuster is actuated by the Motronic M 1.5.4 via two leads with a variable pulse ratio.

It also has the following properties:
- low air leak amount (2.5 m3/h)
- high maximum air throughput (50 m3)
- low dependence of idle speed adjuster characteristic curve on voltage and temperature
- no separation of electric and pneumatic parts in idle speed adjuster, therefore improved cooling of components
- inverse air flow, therefore improved resistance to dirt.

Function:
The idle speed adjuster controls the air throughput when the throttle valve is closed (engine idle speed), depending on the pulse ratio applied by the Motronic M 1.5.4.
· Service
If the idle speed adjuster or the actuation leads between the idle speed adjuster and the control unit are defective, the engine control indicator illuminates and a trouble code is stored in the control unit.
The idle speed adjuster can also be checked using TECH 1.
