This check can be performed in two operating conditions: Ignition ON, engine OFF or engine running at idle speed. The first part of the check should be performed if the engine cannot be started; otherwise the second part ensures accurate diagnosis.
Check 1:
Ignition ON
Engine OFF
Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the diagnostic tester display.
Note:
The secondary air pump is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s). The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.
IMPORTANT:
If the secondary air pump is not actuated the thermo protective switch in the pump might have interrupted the circuit. Let the engine cool down and repeat the test.
Check 2:
Engine running at idle speed
