Engine Oil with Oil Filter Change Opel Combo C

Note. The customer should be informed of the choice between ECOService and ECOService-Flex before the oil change.

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Remove oil filter element • Place collecting basin underneath. • Remove oil filter housing cover (1)
  3. 3. Raise vehicle
  4. 4. Drain engine oil • Place collecting basin underneath. • Remove drain bolt
  5. 5. Fit drain bolt • Replace seal ring • Tighten bolt 20 Nm
  6. 6. Lower vehicle
  7. 7. Install oil filter element (2) • Replace seal ring, oil filter housing cover (3) • Install new oil filter element into cover • Tighten oil filter housing cover 25 Nm

Install

  1. 8. Top up engine oil • Observe specified engine oil quantity • Start engine and allow to run until oil pressure telltale extinguishes. • Check engine oil level, if necessary correct.
  2. 9. Reset service interval Resetting the flexible service interval (ECOService-Flex) The display for the flexible service interval (time and mileage) can be reset via the instrument cluster. The engine control unit is connected to the instrument cluster. Manual reset Ignition OFF. The speedometer display must show the trip odometer reading. Press and hold reset button (trip odometer button). Ignition ON, wait until the service interval display changes and keep the reset button depressed. After a few seconds, the display in the speedometer shows the symbol with the maximum mileage (50,000 km). The time counter in the instrument assembly is set to 24 months. The engine control unit receives a signal via the CAN bus and the "oil condition" is set to 100%. The engine control unit and instrument assembly are thereby reset. Point out to the customer also that a service display which has been accidentally reset by the customer cannot be corrected by the Opel dealer, especially when there is no service booklet. Depending on the distance covered since the last oil change/inspection, a new engine oil change may be required to avoid engine damage. Resetting service interval using TECH 2 (ECOService reprogramming) After an engine oil change, the remaining mileage display on vehicles with "ECOService" must be reset using TECH 2.
